Dhanush Calls Love “Overrated” at Tere Ishk Mein Trailer Launch, Leaves Kriti Sanon Shocked
Actor Dhanush stirred buzz at the Mumbai trailer launch of his upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein when he unexpectedly described love as an “overrated emotion”. The cast, including Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, along with director Aanand L Rai and producer Bhushan Kumar, attended the event. When a reporter asked Dhanush what love meant to him, considering the film revolves around an intense romance, his answer surprised both the audience and his co-star. Kriti Sanon reacted immediately, clearly taken aback by the actor’s stark perspective.
Dhanush’s Statement Steals Spotlight at the Tere Ishk Mein Trailer Launch
Dhanush clarified that his personal view differs from that of his character Shankar. He maintained that he is nothing like the hot-headed lover he plays on-screen. Kriti Sanon, who portrays Mukti, challenged his comment by saying Shankar would disagree, highlighting the contrast between Dhanush’s calm real persona and Shankar’s fiery temperament.
Intense Romance and Turmoil Take Center Stage
Tere Ishk Mein, positioned as a spiritual successor to the 2013 blockbuster Raanjhanaa, follows Shankar, a passionate yet unpredictable young man whose life collapses after heartbreak. When Shankar and Mukti are forcefully separated before their relationship can mature, Shankar channels his pain into fury and vows to destroy everything in his path. This heightened emotional arc introduces audiences to a much darker version of Dhanush than seen in Raanjhanaa.
Aanand L Rai Reveals a Fiercer Dhanush in Spiritual Sequel
During the event, Aanand L Rai recalled unveiling the project on the tenth anniversary of Raanjhanaa. The filmmaker released a teaser featuring Dhanush delivering a gripping monologue in the backdrop of crowded alleys, hinting at the explosive nature of his new character. The line “Pichli baar toh Kundan tha, maan gaya. Par iss baar Shankar ko kaise rokoge?” signaled a dramatic shift from the gentle Kundan to the unpredictable Shankar.
Film Backed by T-Series and Colour Yellow Set for November Release
Produced under the banners of Gulshan Kumar, T-Series and Colour Yellow Productions, the film is helmed by Aanand L Rai with Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar also backing the project. With its intense storyline, powerful performances, and darker emotional tone, Tere Ishk Mein is gearing up for its theatrical release on 28 November.
