Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) has once again showcased its global excellence by securing the 5th position among Indian universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025. The rankings assess universities based on their contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Recognised for Reducing Inequality, Promoting Justice, and Clean Energy
KIIT-DU earned top national ranks in several critical SDG categories:
- 1st in India for Reducing Inequality (SDG-10)
- 1st in India for Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG-16)
- 1st in India for Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG-7)
Additionally, KIIT ranked 3rd in India for ensuring Quality Education (SDG-4), reflecting its commitment to inclusive and impactful education.
Globally Ranked Among the Best
On the international stage, KIIT was placed in the 101 global cohort out of more than 2,400 participating universities from 130 countries, reinforcing its growing international reputation.
Founder Dr Achyuta Samanta Applauds the Achievement
Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr Achyuta Samanta, congratulated the entire KIIT community and highlighted the university’s evolution from humble beginnings to global recognition.
“KIIT has carved out a niche in global rankings and accreditations. Its steady rise showcases our focus on sustainability, inclusivity, quality education, and global cooperation,” he said.
