New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced financial assistance for victims of the devastating Malviya Nagar fire compensation tragedy that claimed at least 21 lives in south Delhi. Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, the Prime Minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the blaze.
The announcement came hours after a massive fire swept through a hotel building in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area, resulting in one of the city’s deadliest fire disasters in recent years.
PM Announces Ex-Gratia Assistance for Victims
Under the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF), the next of kin of each deceased victim will receive an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh.
In addition, individuals injured in the incident will be provided financial assistance of ₹50,000.
The relief package is aimed at supporting families grappling with the immediate aftermath of the tragedy and helping injured survivors during their recovery.
PM Modi Expresses Condolences
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister described the loss of lives as tragic and assured that authorities were extending all possible assistance to those affected.
