PIB fact-check confirms rumours of train tickets discontinuation are fake

Published on

The Government has firmly denied rumours circulating on social media that train tickets have been discontinued and passengers will no longer receive them. Officials clarified that these claims are baseless and misleading.

PIB fact-check unit issues clarification

The fact-check unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has confirmed that no such order has been issued by the Ministry of Railways. It emphasized that the information being spread online about the discontinuation of train tickets is completely fake.

Train tickets discontinuation claim proven false

According to the PIB, train tickets continue to remain available at railway station counters as well as on official websites and mobile applications. There has been no change in the ticketing system for passengers.

Citizens urged to rely on official sources only

Authorities have appealed to the public not to fall for fake news and to trust only reliable and official sources of information. People are advised to verify any such claims through the PIB fact-check portal or official Railway announcements.
