Union Cabinet Condemns Red Fort Car Explosion, Calls It a Heinous Terror Act

Published on

New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Monday strongly condemned the Red Fort car explosion that shook the national capital on November 10, describing it as a “heinous terror incident perpetrated by anti-national forces.”

Addressing the media after the meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw read out a resolution unanimously adopted by the Cabinet, which underlined the government’s firm stance against terrorism.

“The Cabinet expressed profound grief over the loss of innocent lives in the attack that occurred on the evening of November 10. Members observed a two-minute silence in honour of those killed and injured,” Vaishnaw stated.

Cabinet Reaffirms Zero Tolerance Towards Terrorism

In its strongly worded resolution, the government reaffirmed India’s unwavering commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The Cabinet also appreciated the global solidarity shown by various countries and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

The resolution further praised the swift action of medical personnel, emergency responders, and security agencies, commending their “courage and compassion” during the crisis.

Call for Swift and Professional Investigation

The Cabinet directed authorities to ensure that the ongoing investigation is carried out with urgency and professionalism, bringing the perpetrators, collaborators, and sponsors of the attack to justice without delay.

The statement concluded with a pledge reaffirming the government’s commitment to safeguard the lives and well-being of all citizens and uphold the nation’s internal security.
