Alsaati expressed concern over potential strikes against Bahrain or other Arab states and urged Russia to pressure Tehran to avoid further escalation.

Lavrov also suggested adopting a diplomatic approach similar to a previous United Nations Security Council resolution that called for ending hostilities in the Ukraine conflict.

According to him, a similar resolution focused on the Iran conflict could be a fair step toward de escalation.
