New Delhi: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will participate in the 18th BRICS Summit 2026, which India will host in New Delhi on September 12 and 13. The summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam and will bring together leaders from BRICS member and partner countries as well as outreach invitees.
India is hosting the summit as the BRICS chair for 2026. The Ministry of External Affairs said the gathering will be an important part of India’s fourth BRICS chairship.
18th BRICS Summit 2026 to Be Held in New Delhi
The two-day summit will take place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 12-13.
Along with leaders of BRICS member countries, the meeting will include representatives of partner countries and outreach invitees. Guterres’ participation will bring the United Nations leadership into the high-level gathering.
India assumed the BRICS chairship on January 1, 2026. This is the country’s fourth time leading the grouping, after previous chairships in 2012, 2016 and 2021.
