Anand Mohan was released on parole for the third time for his son’s engagement. Anand Mohan was informed during the occasion that he had been released from prison in a nearly 30-year-old murder case.

In 1994, Anand Mohan led a mob that assassinated Gopalganj District Magistrate G Krishnaiah.

Meanwhile, Anand Mohan Singh, who is on 15-day parole for his son’s wedding, took a shot at the BJP, saying, “In Gujarat, some convicts in the Bilkis Bano case have been released.” That, too, occurred as a result of Nitish-RJD pressure?”

“I’ll go back to jail after the ceremonies here, and when the release orders come, I’ll call you all,” he stated.

Prominent politicians and ministers attended Anand Mohan’s son’s engagement ceremony, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, and JDU leader Lalan Singh.

His eldest son, Chetan Anand, and his fiancée Ayushi exchanged engagement rings. The pair proposed at a Patna farmhouse.

Anand Mohan was released on April 10 when the Nitish Kumar administration revised Rule 481 of the Prison Manual, 2012. In the murder case, he was sentenced to death in 2007, but the Patna High Court commuted it in 2008.

According to an official statement from the Bihar government, 26 extra prisoners who had served between 14 and 20 years in prison will be released.
