Kamakhya Express: Railway Track Repaired, Train services will resume shortly

Bhubaneswar: The railway track repair work near Choudwar, where the Bengaluru-Kamakhya Express derailed on Sunday, has concluded. The railway authorities have announced that train service will resume shortly.

According to railway sources, the repair work was completed by 7:15 a.m. today, and instructions were sent to resume train service on this line shortly.

“At 07:15 hrs, railway teams successfully restored the track at the accident site through a quick and coordinated effort.” The devoted Railway workers worked tirelessly to ensure minimal disruption in train service and a prompt resumption of train operations,” according to the release provided by East Coast Railway.

The derailment of the Kamakhya Express killed one passenger and injured 11 others. Emergency agencies, including Fire Service officers and NDRF teams, rushed to the scene to begin rescue efforts. Senior railway officials, including the East Coast Railway GM and Khurdha division DRM, also visited the site to assess the situation.

Soon after the tragedy, railway authorities opened an investigation into the occurrence and immediately began repairing the damaged track.

Train services are anticipated to resume shortly once the repair work is completed, providing relief to passengers affected by the inconvenience.
