India Pakistan ceasefire understanding: The Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan held discussions on Monday, May 12, 2025, in the context of the ongoing ceasefire agreement, as announced by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Saturday, May 10.
Sources indicate that the two senior military officials discussed key elements of the agreement reached on May 10, which aimed to halt military engagements and cross-border firing.
This understanding followed three days of intense conflict beginning on May 7, marked by the launch of Operation Sindoor.
Although the DGMO-level talks were initially scheduled for noon, they eventually began around 5 p.m. The results of the discussion have not yet been disclosed.
On Sunday, May 11, the Directors General of India’s three armed services held a press conference to brief the media about Operation Sindoor. During the briefing, DGMO Lt. Gen. Rajiv Ghai issued a stern warning to Pakistan, stating it would face severe consequences if it engaged in any provocative actions.
