The Iran-Israel confrontation has entered its seventh day, intensifying with a fresh wave of missile attacks and retaliatory airstrikes. Iranian ballistic missiles caused extensive damage in central and southern Israel, including a direct hit on Soroka Hospital and residential areas near Tel Aviv. Following the strike on Soroka Hospital, the facility’s Director General, Shlomi Kodesh, reported widespread structural damage. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed their target was a military site near the hospital, not the hospital itself.

Israeli authorities have alleged that at least one Iranian missile was equipped with a banned cluster bomb warhead. Media reports indicate that 240 people have been injured in today’s attacks, four critically. These developments have fueled fears of an escalating humanitarian crisis.

The Israeli military confirmed it conducted a precision strike on the Arak nuclear reactor and a military site near Natanz. Meanwhile, Iran faces a nationwide internet blackout, now entering its second day, following a series of Israeli strikes on military infrastructure in Tehran.
Israeli Defense Minister Calls for Khamenei’s Elimination
In a dramatic escalation, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared the removal of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei a primary war objective. This marks a historic shift in Israel’s strategy, moving beyond proxy warfare toward direct confrontation with Iranian leadership.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is set to meet tomorrow with his UK, French, and German counterparts, along with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, in Geneva to discuss de-escalation. Meanwhile, the head of Russia’s state-owned nuclear energy firm warned that an Israeli strike on Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant could trigger a Chernobyl-scale disaster.
The United Nations expressed deep concern, condemning the use of civilians as collateral and urging maximum restraint. Separately, Indonesia and 23 Muslim-majority countries, including Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt, and Pakistan, issued a joint statement through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) demanding an immediate ceasefire. They warned that the ongoing conflict threatens to spiral into full-scale war, jeopardizing global peace and stability.
