Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for isolated heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha, including Bhubaneswar (Khurda), Cuttack, and Kendrapara, within the next 24 hours.
The alert advises residents in these regions to remain cautious as the weather system could trigger severe rain, localized flooding, and traffic disruptions, particularly in low-lying urban areas.
Both Bhubaneswar and Cuttack witnessed intense rainfall on Wednesday evening, leading to waterlogging in many neighborhoods. The current temperature in Bhubaneswar is around 26°C with 93% humidity and an 80% chance of precipitation. Wind gusts may reach up to 40 kmph, the IMD added.
Officials have urged citizens to stay indoors during heavy rain, avoid waterlogged roads, and keep emergency kits ready as a precautionary measure.
