India to Launch First Indigenous Semiconductor Chip This Year: Ashwini Vaishnaw

New Delhi: Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced that India will roll out its first indigenous semiconductor chip within this year, marking a major milestone in the country’s journey toward technological self-reliance.

Speaking at the 85th Foundation Day of Keshav Memorial Educational Society in Hyderabad, the Minister emphasized that India is set to become one of the world’s leading semiconductor nations. “Construction work is underway at six semiconductor plants already approved by the government. The first Made in India chip will be ready this year,” he said.

India AI Mission: One Million to Be Trained in Artificial Intelligence

As part of the India AI Mission, Mr. Vaishnaw said that the government is making large-scale datasets and resources freely available to developers and researchers. He added that one million people are currently being trained in artificial intelligence to prepare India’s workforce for the emerging tech-driven economy.

“India will be among the top two economies in the world by 2047,” the Minister stated, projecting optimism about the country’s technological and economic trajectory.

Global Students May Soon Choose India for Higher Education

Addressing students, Mr. Vaishnaw urged them to make the most of new-age technologies and digital tools. He predicted that India will soon become a hub for international students, thanks to its rapidly improving educational standards.

“Very soon, students from developed nations will come to India for education,” he said.

India Rising in Education and Tech: Kishan Reddy

Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy, also present at the event, echoed the sentiment. He highlighted the growing global recognition of India’s education sector, saying that the nation is ready to welcome students from around the world.
