AAP Releases Fourth List of Candidates for Bihar Assembly Elections, Total Reaches 132

Published on

PATNA: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday released its fourth list of 12 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, bringing the total number of announced candidates to 132. The party has decided to contest independently in the elections scheduled for November 6 and 11, with the results to be declared on November 14.

The latest list includes Kumar Kunal from Madhuban, Brij Bhushan (Navin) from Sapaul, and Anil Kumar from Gaya Town. This follows AAP’s third list of 50 candidates announced on October 18.

Meanwhile, the opposition Mahagathbandhan alliance continues to face internal discord, as it failed to finalize its seat-sharing agreement even by Sunday. The delay has created uncertainty, especially with October 20 marking the last date for filing nominations for the second phase and withdrawal of nominations for the first phase covering 121 constituencies.

Adding to the political reshuffle, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has announced that it will contest independently in the Bihar Assembly elections, citing a lack of clarity in the Mahagathbandhan’s seat-sharing talks.

The Congress, despite the alliance stalemate, has moved ahead by releasing its second list of candidates, following its first list of 48 names on October 17.

On the other hand, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has already finalized its seat distribution and launched its campaign groundwork. The BJP has declared candidates for all 101 seats allotted to it under the alliance agreement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin his election campaign in Bihar on October 24, marking the start of an intense campaign season ahead of the two-phase polls for all 243 Assembly seats.
