New Delhi: New Chief of Defence Staff NS Raja Subramani on Sunday said innovation in thought and action would play a crucial role in shaping India’s future military capabilities.
Addressing the media after assuming charge as the country’s new CDS, General Subramani highlighted the importance of stronger collaboration between the Armed Forces, industry, academia, startups and the research ecosystem to accelerate defence modernisation.
Focus on Modernisation and Capability Development
The CDS said technological advancement and innovation would be key enablers in enhancing the operational effectiveness of India’s military forces.
He stressed that closer cooperation among stakeholders across the defence and innovation sectors would help build advanced capabilities required to address emerging security challenges.
The second-order effect of increased collaboration between the military and innovation ecosystem could strengthen indigenous defence production, accelerate technological self-reliance and improve national security preparedness.
Commitment to National Security
General Subramani noted that the Armed Forces have consistently demonstrated professionalism and operational decisiveness in safeguarding India’s interests.
He reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while maintaining the highest standards of military professionalism.
The CDS also acknowledged the dedication and courage of soldiers, sailors and air warriors serving across the country.
Welfare of Personnel and Veterans a Priority
Assuring continued focus on the welfare of service personnel, General Subramani said training, readiness and well-being of the Armed Forces would remain top priorities.
He also reaffirmed the military’s commitment towards veterans and Veer Naris, stating that the Armed Forces would continue serving the nation with dedication, courage, honour and professionalism.
Earlier in the day, General Subramani received a Guard of Honour at the South Block Lawns in New Delhi and paid tribute to fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial.
