Jyotiraditya Scindia Inspires Youth at IIIT-Delhi Tech Fest, Urges Building ‘Vishwaguru Bharat’

Published on

Union Minister of Communications and Minister for Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, delivered a powerful address at ESYA, the annual tech fest of IIIT-Delhi. In his speech, Scindia called upon India’s youth to take charge of building ‘Vishwaguru Bharat’, invoking the nation’s civilizational legacy as a global hub of knowledge and innovation.

He reminded students of India’s historic contributions—from Aryabhata’s invention of zero to advances in medicine, surgery, and the world-renowned universities of Nalanda and Takshashila. “The largest library at Harvard pales in comparison to Nalanda. That spark still lies within us,” he remarked, calling the tech fest a “launchpad to enact bold dreams.”

Vishwaguru Bharat vision highlighted at IIIT-Delhi Tech Fest

Scindia emphasized that India’s future depends on its youth and their ability to shape innovation responsibly. “From IT revolutionizing the world four decades ago, today AI will transform lives. But the challenge is not to just build AI, but to build Responsible AI for All—AI that elevates humanity, not dominates it,” he said.

He further stressed that India must leverage frontier technologies such as 6G, quantum computing, terahertz communication, indigenous chipsets, and bio-nano systems to cement its place as a global leader.

Telecom Technology Development Fund fueling over 120 futuristic projects

The Minister highlighted that the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) of the Department of Telecommunications has already invested in more than 120 cutting-edge projects. These include initiatives in encrypted routers, next-generation chips, quantum systems, and advanced communication technologies.

Scindia reaffirmed the government’s target of ensuring India contributes at least 10% of the world’s 6G patents by 2030, adding that this ambitious vision rests on the innovation potential of young Indian students.

From brain drain to brain gain: a call to return home

Speaking to aspiring innovators, Scindia urged students who go abroad for education or work to eventually return and contribute to the nation’s growth. “Study at the best universities, work in the best labs, but come back home with your knowledge and ambition to rebuild India into the Golden Bird it once was. Let us turn brain drain into brain gain,” he appealed.

Three mantras for youth: Be Bold, Be Rooted, Build for Bharat

Concluding his address, the Minister presented three guiding principles—Be Bold, Be Rooted, Build for Bharat. He underlined that India’s growth is anchored in its civilizational values of peace and inclusivity, with Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family) as its guiding philosophy.

“The opportunity of the next 100 years lies in India. Carry forward the spirit of Asia, the spirit of India, to shine on the world stage,” Scindia said, leaving the packed auditorium with resounding applause.
