Kalahandi News: The car was going over the bridge. Suddenly the bridge collapsed. As a result, two cars fell down the pole. Such an accident took place on a bridge of Bhabanipatna State Highway 44 in Kalahandi (Kalahandi News) district which connects Bhabanipatna to Thuamul Rampur.

According to the information, the bridge collapsed near Saidham on the road from Bhavanipatna to Thuamul Rampur in Kalahandi district at around 3:30 this afternoon. The incident took place near Bhagirathi Park. At the time when the bridge collapsed, 2 cars were traveling. There were 7 passengers in these 2 cars. They were pressed against the bridge.

For information from the local people, the police and the fire brigadier reached the spot and rescued them. The rescued people have been admitted to the district headquarter hospital.


According to local residents, the bridge was very old. There was a need for the administration to arrange for proper repairs or alternative roads.
