New Delhi: Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Textiles and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, stated that the media and entertainment industries will leave an indelible mark in the Amrit Kaal, which is poised to be one of India’s defining moments. During his speech at FICCI Frames 2023, the Minister praised the industry for its dedication to putting Indian cinema on the world map.

The Minister stated that the government, led by the visionary Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, is supportive of all efforts by the media and entertainment industries to expand the sector’s worldwide boundaries and reach the world’s most remote regions. Shri Goyal stated that the media and entertainment industries may convey the information.

The Minister praised the industry for efficiently adapting current technologies, citing the widespread use of cellphones as cameras as an example. According to Shri Goyal, the media and entertainment business will grow by leaps and bounds as digital platforms arise. Shri Piyush Goyal praised Indian visual effects companies participating in Hollywood films such as Avatar. He stated that startups are greatly helping to the expansion of this area.

The Minister stated that the media and entertainment industries can show the world the New India of today while also helping the country reach a new audience, influence ideas, and spread optimism. He stated that this optimism motivates people, governments, and corporations to be more aspirational and optimistic about the future.

Shri Goyal stated that the media and entertainment industries are cultural ambassadors for India and have given the country a distinct identity. He emphasised that the media and entertainment industries have enormous potential to connect individuals, businesses, and nations, resulting in a better knowledge and appreciation of various cultures and conditions around the world.

According to the Minister, the world is enjoying Indian art and culture, as seen by the recent Oscar nominations for the ‘Naatu-Naatu’ song and the ‘Elephant Whisperers’ film. According to Shri Goyal, these Awards assisted India in conveying a social message that sustainability lies at the heart of Indian culture and tradition. As the Awards underlined, he added, the message of Naari Shakti was also well communicated.

Shri Piyush Goyal stated that the theme ‘inspire, innovate, and immerse’ is timely since it reflects the liveliness of the media and entertainment industries. According to him, the concept also resonates with the belief that creativity can boost trade. He stated that the industry is an important component of India’s cultural identity and heritage. According to the Minister, FICCI Frames has now become an established platform in the media and entertainment sector, exhibiting to the world what India genuinely represents.

The Minister stated that in New India, every artist can dream and every dreamer can succeed, and he challenged the media and entertainment business to create an industry that entertains, empowers, enlightens, and inspires the entire nation.
