Operation Sindoor a Warning to Pakistan: Rajnath Singh Says India Will Not Tolerate Terrorism
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday delivered a strong message to Pakistan, asserting that Operation Sindoor was India’s firm warning against continued terrorism. Speaking at the Northern Command Headquarters in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, Singh said the operation was a “natural progression” of the 2016 surgical strike and the 2019 Balakot air strike.
“Pakistan’s Thousand Cuts Policy Will Not Succeed”
Singh stated emphatically that India has demonstrated its strength and resolve in the face of terrorism. “We have shown Pakistan through Operation Sindoor that its ‘thousand cuts’ policy is bound to fail. India is fully prepared for any type of action against terrorism,” he declared.
Operation Sindoor: A Retaliation and a Warning
Referring to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, Singh said it wasn’t just an act of terrorism but also an attempt to break India’s social and communal unity. “We foiled their plans and retaliated effectively, bringing Pakistan to its knees. Only then did we suspend Operation Sindoor,” he noted.
He added, “This operation was not just a military response, but a strong message to Pakistan that India will not tolerate terrorism anymore. If such attacks continue, the consequences will worsen.”
Operation Sindoor was carried out on the night of May 6–7, targeting and destroying terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Singh paid tribute to Army heroes Major Somnath Sharma and Brigadier Mohammad Usman, praising their sacrifices for India’s unity. “Pakistan wants to weaken us from within, but it should remember the courage of our martyrs who laid down their lives to keep India united,” he said.
Yoga as a Symbol of National Unity
Marking International Yoga Day, Singh also spoke about the deeper meaning of yoga. “Yoga means uniting. It represents the unity of all sections of society with the culture and soul of India,” he said. He warned that leaving any section behind would risk breaking the unity and security of the nation.
Accompanied by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Singh highlighted the relevance of yoga not just for physical well-being but also for national cohesion.
