The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment’s Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities yesterday hosted a one-day ‘Purple Fest’ at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.

According to President Droupadi Murmu, a country’s or society’s reputation is determined by its sensitivity to the underprivileged. The President addressed the Purple Fest event at Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening, stating that compassion, inclusivity, and peace are values of Indian culture and civilization.

The president stated that the Constitution’s preamble addresses social justice, equality of position, and individual dignity. President Murmu was pleased that the administration is working to empower and secure equal participation of Divyangjan through the Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan. Today, the president attended the festival and observed Divyangjan’s cultural acts.

The inaugural session of the event was presided over by Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar. The festival’s primary goal is to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
