‘Net-Zero Vision for Bhubaneswar’ : UK Delegation In Odisha Look Into Partnerships In Skill Development

Bhubaneswar: A group from the UK Skills and Chartered Bodies Mission is in Odisha to look into partnerships in Skill Development and vocational education. Enhancing industry-led skilling programs, incorporating apprenticeships in the UK, and advancing training in advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, digital skills, and sustainable infrastructure were the main topics of discussion.

The British Deputy High Commissioner to East and North-East India, Andrew Fleming, and Odisha’s Minister of Skill Development and Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain, highlighted the possibility of closer cooperation to produce a workforce that is highly qualified and competitive worldwide.

UK Delegation In Odisha Look Into Partnerships

The partnership aims to improve industry-led skill development programs, boost workforce training in advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, digital skills, and sustainable infrastructure, and strengthen vocational education in Odisha by implementing apprenticeships in key sectors in the UK.

Government Officials Taking Part

Odisha’s Minister of Technical Education and Skill Development, Sampad Chandra Swain. The British Deputy High Commissioner to East and North-East India is Andrew Fleming.

The UK Government, Energy Department, and GRIDCO hosted a workshop on “Net-Zero Vision for Bhubaneswar” with an emphasis on clean energy and sustainability.

Encourage cooperation amongst stakeholders and the sharing of expertise. Create a strategy plan for the sustainable energy transition in Bhubaneswar. Comply with Odisha’s objective of 10.9 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2029–2030 and India’s net-zero aim by 2070.
