Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) on April 1, 2025. The objective is to offer health coverage to the state’s estimated 3.52 crore residents.
At a high-level meeting with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan, the decision was made to merge and introduce these schemes. The government’s willingness to enhance healthcare services for all citizens was emphasized throughout the discussion.
By completing the capabilities of both AB-PMJAY and GJAY, this innovation demonstrates Odisha’s commitment to ensuring that all state residents have access to high-quality healthcare services and to universal health coverage in accordance with national laws.
The integrated scheme’s goal is to provide health insurance coverage to a significant portion of Odisha’s population:
Beneficiary families: Approximately 1.03 crore families will be covered, with 67.8 lakh families receiving benefits from AB-PMJAY and 35.8 lakh families receiving benefits from GJAY.
Individual beneficiaries: It is anticipated that the overlapping initiatives will benefit around 3.52 crore people in total.
Senior citizens: Ayushman Bayobandana Yojana is intended to help 23.12 lakh senior individuals who are 70 years of age or older receive the healthcare support they require as they age.
Financial Assistance
Individuals do receive sufficient aid from these schemes:
Coverage amounts: Up to Rs 5 lakhs in medical treatment is granted to each male beneficiary annually, while Rs 10 lakhs is granted to female beneficiaries.
Enhanced family coverage: By combining coverage of 15 lakhs, families with members over 70 are protected against health issues.
OUTREACH AND IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY
To guarantee that the public is informed and that an appropriate deployment takes place:
Launch events across the state: All 1438 of Odisha’s Primary Health Centers will host milestone events to commemorate the introduction of the integrated programs.
Campaigns for awareness: Plan A comprehensive awareness campaign will be implemented to mark and increase awareness of the schemes and associated credentialing procedures.
