PM Modi Conferred Ghana’s Highest Honour, Inks Four MoUs During State Visit

Accra: During his state visit to Ghana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a key bilateral meeting with President John Mahama at Jubilee House in Accra on Monday night. The two leaders explored avenues to expand India-Ghana ties, ultimately agreeing to upgrade the relationship into a Comprehensive Partnership.

As part of the deepening cooperation, four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed in areas including cultural exchange and traditional music.

In a joint press briefing, PM Modi highlighted the shared commitment to expanding cooperation across diverse sectors. “Our partnership will now take a comprehensive form,” he stated.

In a significant gesture of goodwill and recognition, Ghana awarded Prime Minister Modi its highest state honour, acknowledging his global statesmanship and impactful leadership.

Upon his arrival in Accra, PM Modi received a ceremonial welcome, including a 21-gun salute and guard of honour led by President Mahama, marking the start of a visit that symbolizes a new era in India-Ghana relations.
