Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) officially launched its 3rd OMC Annual Sports Meet 2025, marking the beginning of a three-day sporting celebration across multiple premier venues in Bhubaneswar, including Kalinga Stadium, the Biju Patnaik Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, and the East Coast Railway Cricket Stadium. The large-scale event brings together employees from across regions, reinforcing OMC’s continued focus on employee wellbeing, teamwork, and organisational unity.

The sports meet was formally inaugurated by OMC Managing Director Sudhansu Mohan Samal in the presence of senior leadership, including Executive Director (F&E) Sudhanshu Shekhar Khora, Director (Operations) Sabyasachi Mohanty, Director (HR) Alok Kumar Pal, and Director (Finance) Bana Bihari Pani, along with senior officials from various departments and a large gathering of participating employees.

With participation from more than 550 employees, the event features competition across 18 sporting disciplines such as sprint races, long jump, javelin throw, table tennis, volleyball, and cricket. The diverse range of events highlights OMC’s emphasis on physical fitness, collaboration, and fostering a vibrant workplace culture that goes beyond routine professional engagement.

Addressing the gathering during the inaugural ceremony, Managing Director Sudhansu Mohan Samal underlined the deeper purpose of the annual sports meet, describing it as more than just a competitive platform. Prior to the commencement of competitive events, all participants and officials jointly took a Sports Safety Pledge.
