Bhubaneswar: Sawan has started. According to Hindu Purana Shravan month, commonly known as Sawan or Shravan Maas, is regarded as a holy month. It is the fifth month of the Hindu calendar. The month of Sawan has great importance in Hinduism. Sawan is considered to be the month of Shiva. Some people keep fast only on Monday, while some people keep fast for the whole month. Some people eat rock salt during this fast, while some eat only fruits. Today we are telling you what you can eat during Sawan Somwar fast and what you should avoid.

Eat these things during the fast of Sawan

1- Drinks:- If you are fasting on Monday of Sawan then you can drink some drinks. So start the day with juice, smoothie, lemonade, coconut water. With this, you can keep yourself healthy.

2- Dry fruits:- During the fast, you must include a handful of dry fruits in the diet at any time. With this, you can save the body from becoming weak and you will not feel hungry again and again.

3- Vegetables:- On the day of fasting, you can eat potato, gourd, pumpkin and vegetables in the fruit diet. These vegetables are considered to be pure sattvic food. You can make them by sprinkling them in ghee and cumin.

4- Fruits:- In the Monday of Sawan, you should eat a lot of fruits. In fruits, you can eat fruits like bananas, apples, orange, pomegranates. You will keep it healthy.

Do not eat these things during fasting

 1- Empty Stomach:- Fasting does not mean that you have to stay empty stomach. You may also have headache and vomiting. In the rainy season and Sawan, you need to take great care of your food and drink. Therefore, keep eating fruits or dry fruits.

2- Fried food:- Many people eat a lot of fried roast in fasting. Especially during fasting, such things can cause heartburn, gas, and lack of water.

3-Tea:- No matter what fast you do, you should not start the morning with tea. You have to eat light food throughout the day. Drinking tea on an empty stomach in the morning creates gas. Try to eat peanuts or makhana roasted in rock salt on the surface of the tea.
