The Taj Story Box Office Collection: Registers ₹8.10 Crore Weekend
The much-acclaimed film of the year, ‘The Taj Story’, starring Paresh Rawal and directed by Tushar Amrish Goel, has taken the box office by storm. The film registered a thunderous opening weekend of ₹8.10 crore, leaving trade analysts pleasantly surprised. With a steady performance on Monday, the film appears poised to become the next “The Kerala Story” or “The Kashmir Files” of Indian cinema.
The remarkable performance has sparked conversations in Bollywood about the return of content-driven cinema. Viewers across the country are praising the movie’s powerful storytelling, emotionally stirring plot, and Paresh Rawal’s impactful performance.
The Taj Story Box Office Collection Shows Steady Growth
What stands out about The Taj Story box office collection is its consistency and upward trend. Unlike most films that witness a sharp fall after the first day, this movie has seen steady growth driven by strong word-of-mouth publicity. Audiences describe it as a bold, eye-opening, and socially relevant cinematic experience that dares to question long-held narratives.
As the film continues its run, its trajectory mirrors that of earlier audience-driven blockbusters like The Kerala Story and The Kashmir Files, which began modestly but went on to become nationwide sensations.
The Taj Story Box Office Collection Boosted by Word-of-Mouth and Performances
The film’s narrative, deeply rooted in emotions and social commentary, resonates with viewers across demographics. The ensemble cast, including Paresh Rawal, Zakir Hussain, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sneha Wagh, and Namit Das, has delivered powerful performances. Produced by CA Suresh Jha under Swarnim Global Services Pvt. Ltd, the movie boldly poses a provocative question: “Even after 79 years of Independence, are we still slaves of intellectual terrorism?”
The music by Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dev Nath adds emotional depth, while the direction ensures a gripping balance between historical reflection and modern-day relevance.
The Taj Story Controversy Sparks Debate Before Release
The film also faced pre-release hurdles when two Public Interest Litigations (PILs) were filed seeking a ban and a review of its certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Petitioners alleged that the movie distorted facts related to the Taj Mahal’s history. However, both petitions were later withdrawn after the court clarified that the matter could be taken up with the Central Government under Section 6 of the Cinematograph Act.
In response, Paresh Rawal stated that the film was based on thorough research and was never intended to create religious discord. “We ensured from the very beginning that there would be no Hindu-Muslim controversy,” he said. Director Tushar Amrish Goel also clarified that all historical references were properly cited and verified.
‘The Taj Story’ Draws Comparisons with Recent Blockbusters
Released nationwide on October 31, The Taj Story has already become a topic of discussion for its strong collections and the debates it has reignited. The film’s success is seen as a sign that audiences are ready for content-heavy, socially conscious cinema. If the trend continues, The Taj Story could become one of the biggest surprise hits of 2025, cementing its place among modern Indian cinema’s most talked-about titles.
