Renowned Punjabi actor-comedian Jaswinder Bhalla, best known for his iconic role as Advocate Dhillon in the Carry On Jatta series, passed away at the age of 65. He breathed his last in the early hours of Friday, August 22, at Fortis Hospital, Mohali.

According to reports, Jaswinder Bhalla suffered a brain stroke on Wednesday evening and was immediately rushed to Fortis Hospital in Mohali. Despite timely medical care, his condition deteriorated. His close friend and fellow performer from Chhankata, Balmukund Sharma, confirmed the heartbreaking news. Doctors revealed that the veteran comedian had lost a significant amount of blood, which led to his passing.

Jaswinder Bhalla’s last rites in Mohali

The final rites of Jaswinder Bhalla will be conducted on August 23 at noon at the Balongi cremation ground in Mohali. Family members, friends, colleagues, and countless admirers are expected to gather to pay their last respects to the legendary artist.

Jaswinder Bhalla was admired for his unmatched comic timing and unforgettable screen presence. Though primarily a Punjabi artist, his popularity transcended regional cinema. He also gained recognition for his performance alongside Jaspal Bhatti in the Hindi comedy Mahaul Theek Hai (1999).

Beginning his journey with Dulha Batti, Bhalla steadily rose to become a household name in Punjabi cinema. His contribution to hit franchises like Carry On Jatta and Jatt and Juliet is considered irreplaceable. His famous dialogue, “Advocate Dhillon ne kala coat aiwi ni paya,” continues to make audiences smile.

The veteran comedian’s recent films, including Shinda Shinda No Papa with Gippy Grewal and Hina Khan, and Carry On Jatta 3, showcased his continued dedication to the craft. His legacy as a performer who spread laughter and joy remains eternal.
