- Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been reduced by Rs 183.50 from July 1.
- The price cut benefits hotels, restaurants, caterers and other commercial users.
- Domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged across major cities.
NEW DELHI: The commercial LPG price cut has provided significant relief to businesses after oil marketing companies reduced the price of 19-kg commercial cylinders by Rs 183.50, effective from July 1. The reduction comes after several months of rising fuel costs and is expected to lower operating expenses for restaurants, hotels, caterers and other commercial establishments.
However, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders, leaving household cooking gas rates unchanged in the latest monthly revision.
Commercial LPG Price Cut Lowers Costs for Businesses
Following the latest revision, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced across major cities.
Revised commercial LPG prices include:
- Delhi: Rs 2,930 (down from Rs 3,113.50)
- Mumbai: Around Rs 2,885.50
- Kolkata: Around Rs 3,072
- Chennai: Around Rs 3,100
Meanwhile, the price of the standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged at Rs 942 in Delhi, Rs 941.50 in Mumbai, Rs 968 in Kolkata and Rs 957.50 in Chennai.
Why the Commercial LPG Price Cut Matters
The latest reduction follows a decline in global crude oil prices after geopolitical tensions in West Asia eased. Improved stability following the extension of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, along with smoother movement of oil and gas shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, has helped reduce pressure on international energy markets.
The second-order impact of the price cut could extend beyond fuel savings. Lower commercial LPG costs may improve profit margins for hotels, restaurants and catering businesses, while also helping some establishments manage menu prices and operational expenses more effectively.
Industry observers note that commercial LPG prices had risen sharply earlier this year because of supply concerns linked to regional conflicts. The latest revision marks the first reduction in commercial LPG rates in 2026 and signals improving conditions in global energy markets. Domestic consumers, however, will continue to pay existing LPG prices until any future revision is announced.
