Medical Flight Crashes in Nevada: All five passengers of a medical transport plane, including a patient, died in a shocking incident after the plane crashed in the mountains of northern Nevada, USA.

According to the Lion County Sheriff’s Office, authorities received calls about the crash near Stagecoach, Nevada, around 9:15 Friday night, and the wreckage was discovered two hours later. Stagecoach, with a population of about 2,500, is located 45 miles (72 km) southeast of Reno.
The crash came amid a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service in Reno for much of Nevada, including parts of Lyon County.

Heavy snow, wind gusts up to 65 mph (105 km/h) and whiteout conditions are expected from 4 a.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Sunday, according to the weather service.

According to Care Flight, which provides air and helicopter ambulance services, the victims included pilots, flight nurses, flight attendants, patients and patients’ families.

The company’s president and CEO, Barry Duplantis, said Saturday afternoon that relatives of all five victims have been notified, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported.

“It’s a fairly mountainous area,” said Lyon County Sgt. Nathan Cooper said. “Not very good, especially in this weather.”

The National Transportation Safety Board announced on Twitter Saturday morning that it was sending a team of seven investigators to the crash site. The NTSB is expected to release more information at its press conference on Sunday.

Careflight identified the downed aircraft as a Pilatus PC-12. According to FAA records, the plane was built in 2002. In a statement, the company said it was suspending flights to focus on supporting responding agencies, team members and families.
