“India is on track to become the world’s leading job creator.” To succeed globally, we no longer require degrees, but rather competency related to skilling. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which focuses on vocational education, is a move in the right direction, according to Pradhan.

He also stated that the definition of skilling should be expanded beyond menial jobs. “We intend to bring about a paradigm shift in order to create a future workforce that is technologically equipped.” In three years time, you will see farmers in pant-shirt operating drones in their fields,” he added.

Furthermore, the Minister stated that technology has affected every aspect of life. “Today, no one is unaffected by ChatGPT, whereas a few years ago no one could have imagined it as a reality.” “With the help of technology, India is transforming its workforce,” the Minister stated.

Meanwhile, Pradhan inaugurated the Future of Work expo, which will be held at the CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from April 23rd to 28th. The exhibition will serve as a venue for technology executives, influencers, and academics to share their thoughts on the future of work.

The exhibition will include institutes and organisations from a variety of sectors, such as NIT Rourkela, IIT Bhubaneshwar, IIM Sambalpur, Meta, UNICEF, NCERT, and many more. The show will feature more than 100 exhibitors from India and G2O member countries.
