IMD Predicts Extremely Heavy Rainfall in Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Goa and More

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert forecasting very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across several regions of India today. The affected areas include Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra.

Widespread Heavy Rainfall Across Multiple Regions

In addition to the above regions, the IMD has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, South Interior Karnataka, and Telangana.

Thunderstorms and Gusty Winds to Persist

Heavy rainfall is expected to continue across parts of Northwest, Northeast, and Southern Peninsular India. Thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning are likely to prevail across many parts of the country over the next seven days.

East, Central and West India Also on Alert

According to the IMD, similar weather conditions will persist in Eastern, Central, and Western India during the next five to seven days, indicating a prolonged wet spell.

Delhi NCR to Experience Heavy Showers

The national capital region, including Delhi, is likely to experience heavy rainfall during the day, adding to the ongoing monsoon activity.
