  • Click on “Apply for New PAN” link on the homepage.
  • Select the category you fall under (e.g., individual, company, trust, etc.).

  • Upload the necessary documents, such as your proof of identity, proof of address, and passport-sized photograph.
  • Pay the required fee through the online payment gateway. The fee for a PAN card is currently Rs. 107 for Indian citizens and Rs. 1044 for foreign citizens.
  • Submit the application form and wait for your PAN card to be delivered by Department Of Post. It typically takes around 15 days for the PAN card to be issued.

An e-PAN (electronic Permanent Account Number) is an electronic version of the PAN card, which can be downloaded from the official website of the Income Tax Department of India.

  • Enter your PAN number and the captcha code displayed on the screen.
  • Click on the “Submit” button to proceed.
  • Enter your email address and mobile number, and then click on the “Proceed” button.
  • An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your email address and mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP in the designated field and click on the “Validate” button.

Your e-PAN will be downloaded in PDF format. You can save the PDF file on your computer or mobile device and print it if needed.

The e-PAN is a valid proof of identity and address and can be used in place of the physical PAN card. However, it is not a replacement for the physical PAN card and you will still need to carry the physical card with you when required.
