India Hosts MILMEDICON-2025 with Global Focus on Trauma Care and Military Medicine Reforms

Published on

New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Thursday inaugurated MILMEDICON-2025: International Conference on Physical and Mental Trauma in Military Settings at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. The two-day international event is organised by the Directorate General of Medical Services (Army) with a strong emphasis on trauma care, innovations, and reforms in the field of military medicine.

Mr. Seth, in his address, highlighted India’s vision of advancing military healthcare through global cooperation, research-driven initiatives, and respect for the legacy of service. Calling it a significant milestone, he said, “It is a fitting tribute to our warriors and a crucial step towards future-ready healthcare solutions.”

MILMEDICON-2025: Trauma Care in Military Settings Takes Centre Stage

This year’s conference marks the Indian Army’s ‘Year of Reforms’ and is positioned as a strategic initiative to strengthen trauma care capabilities in operational and battlefield conditions. By bringing together international experts, MILMEDICON-2025: Trauma Care in Military Settings seeks to create a blueprint for future healthcare solutions in defence forces.

AI Integration and Innovative Models in Military Medicine

Key sessions will focus on advanced combat trauma management, integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare delivery, and innovative battlefield response models. Experts will also deliberate on developing resilient medical support systems for soldiers during high-intensity conflicts.

Women in Combat Medicine and Military Leadership

A special focus of MILMEDICON-2025 is on the role of women in combat medicine and leadership. This coincides with the centenary celebrations of the Military Nursing Service, honouring a century of service and the spirit of ‘Nari Shakti’ in military healthcare.

A Global Platform for Strategic Defence Healthcare Reforms

Delegates from more than 15 countries, alongside senior armed forces leaders, civilian experts, and academic researchers, are participating through panel discussions, poster sessions, and exhibitions. This global exchange of ideas is expected to foster stronger international partnerships in military healthcare and trauma care reforms.
