Men’s Asia Cup Hockey Championship 2025: Malaysia stuns Bangladesh with comeback win

Bangladesh shocked the Malaysian side when striker Ashraful Islam netted a goal in the opening minutes, giving his team an early advantage and a much-needed morale boost. However, Malaysia shifted gears soon after and took control with an aggressive style of play. Their passing, coordination, and striking ability overwhelmed the Bangladeshi defence.

By the end of the first quarter, Malaysia had leveled the score and then struck three more goals to secure a commanding lead. Bangladesh, unable to cope with Malaysia’s pace and attacking formations, failed to mount a comeback. The final blow came in the 54th minute when Syed Cholan scored Malaysia’s fourth and decisive goal.
