Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited (OMFED) is preparing to enter the chocolate market by establishing a dedicated chocolate manufacturing plant, according to Managing Director Vijay Amrut Kulange.

Speaking to the media, Kulange revealed that OMFED has developed its chocolate design in collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). Once the detailed project report (DPR) is finalized, it will be submitted to the Odisha government for capital investment. These initiatives will strengthen OMFED’s presence in the dairy and food industry.

Additionally, OMFED plans to introduce bottled water in the market within the next four months. The organization also aims to boost milk production by 10 lakh litres within a year. Currently, OMFED produces 120 tons of ghee per month and is looking to scale up production in the near future.
