Dongguan, China – vivo marked its 30th anniversary in grand style with the vivo Vision Launch Event & Imaging Grand Ceremony, where it unveiled its first-ever mixed reality (MR) headset – vivo Vision Discovery Edition. The launch cements vivo’s entry into the MR space, making it the first Chinese smartphone company to operate in both smartphones and MR products.

vivo Vision Discovery Edition: A New Era in Mixed Reality

Four years in development, the vivo Vision Discovery Edition brings a lightweight, ergonomic design (just 398g) with powerful performance driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon® XR2+ Gen 21 platform. The MR headset features:

  • 1.5° precision eye-tracking & 26 DoF fingertip gesture recognition.
  • Immersive 120-foot virtual theater screen for entertainment & gaming.
  • Advanced OriginOS Vision for natural gesture-based interactions.

With this innovation, vivo aims to bring MR beyond labs into daily entertainment, gaming, productivity, and immersive video experiences.

vivo Upgrades Imaging Strategy: Next-Gen Ecosystem with ZEISS

Alongside the MR launch, vivo announced a comprehensive imaging strategy upgrade, building an ecosystem around scenario-based photography and videography. Key highlights include:

  • Collaboration with ZEISS to advance optical imaging.
