Mumbai: Is your Aadhar card 10 years old? If yes, then this news is very important for you. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued a notice asking those who got their Aadhaar card 10 years ago to update their documents and details and have never updated it after that.

In a statement issued by UIDAI, it has been said that the work of updating information can be done either online or by visiting Aadhaar centers. However, it is not mandatory.

According to UIDAI shared notice, users must update their information every ten years. As said, Aadhaar holders who received card more than ten years ago and have not updated their information since then are requested to do so. This includes updating identification and residence proof documents.

According to the statement, persons who had got their Aadhaar made ten years ago and have never updated them in these years thereafter, such Aadhaar number holders are requested to get the documents updated. UIDAI has provided a document update facility to Aadhaar holders in this regard with a prescribed fee and Aadhaar holders can update documents related to personal identity proof and address proof in Aadhaar data.

During these ten years, the Aadhaar number has emerged as the proof of identity of an individual and the Aadhaar number is being used for availing various government schemes and services, the statement said. UIDAI said that in order to avail of these schemes and services, people have to keep their Aadhaar data updated with the latest personal details so that there is no inconvenience in Aadhaar authentication and verification.

Update Aadhaar Card Offline

With the help of offline mode, the user can update at a Permanent Enrollment Centre as Adhaar Seva Kendra or Jana Seva Kendra or Post Office or Banks. The document verification by the verifier also happens at the time of placing the Update request. The collected biometric and demographic data will then be updated.

To log in, the Aadhaar number and registered mobile number of the user are required. The user is authenticated by OTP on a registered mobile number.
